Er zijn veel methoden om je website te promoten zonder hiervoor de 'Zoekmachine' nodig te hebben. Het belangrijkste doel zal dan zijn "Het verkrijgen van links op andere websites naar jouw website". Een middel hiervoor is bijvoorbeeld het gebruik van een weblog. Maar er zijn er meer.
